Trust
Trust: verifiable facts
In brief IA-N analyses the cameras on site, on the box or in the customer's video server, without facial recognition. The IA-N Analyse plugin sends no image: only technical data (licence, update checks and, at the installer's request, the analysis configuration for the GDPR file) goes to our servers, hosted in France. ElectroniSafe is a French company, subject to the GDPR, that designs and develops IA-N in France.
This page is a translation of the French version.
This page brings together what we can prove about IA-N: the IA-N box and the IA-N Analyse plugin for video servers built on the Nx platform. Each point refers to our texts or to our measurements.
1. Where the data goes
- Analysis is done on site: on the IA-N box, or in the customer's video server with the IA-N Analyse plugin.
- No facial recognition: IA-N detects people, vehicles and animals; it never tries to find out who a person is.
- IA-N Analyse plugin: it analyses the frames in the server's memory, records none and sends none. For the licence, only the following goes to our portal: the key, the number of cameras, hashed technical fingerprints of the server, and the versions of the video software and of the plugin; for update checks, only the installed version and the platform; at the installer's request, the analysis configuration used to prepare the site's GDPR file, with no image or camera identifier. Details in section 10 of our privacy policy.
- IA-N box: recordings stay on the box or on the storage chosen by the customer (NAS, network share). Images only leave the box for specific uses: remote viewing, alarm verification, support, and the notifications or services the customer enables. Our servers do not keep them, except as detailed in our privacy policy. The box is connected to our servers through an encrypted private network for updates, the licence and its technical status (version, processor, memory, temperature, disk), with no image.
2. Who the publisher is
- ElectroniSafe SAS, a French company (RCS Chambéry 924 849 540), La Bâthie (Savoie), France: subject to the GDPR and to the French Data Protection Act. Details in our legal notice.
- IA-N is software designed and developed in France by ElectroniSafe.
- Our servers (website, licence portal, updates) are hosted in France, in Paris, by Hostinger International Limited.
3. GDPR and AI Act
- Who does what: the customer who operates the site decides what is filmed; they are the controller and, with their installer, inform the people filmed (information sign, retention period, data protection impact assessment when required). ElectroniSafe is the software publisher. For the box functions that route images through our servers, ElectroniSafe acts as a processor (Article 28 GDPR).
- Our texts: privacy policy, IA-N Analyse plugin terms of use.
- Template documents for our customers and installers, on request at support@electronisafe.fr: data protection impact assessment (DPIA) template; information sign template; data processing agreement (Article 28 GDPR) for the box; information notice on the artificial intelligence system (capabilities, limits, excluded uses) under Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act).
- Protection tools in the product: excluded zones (nothing is analysed behind them: neighbours' windows, public road); licence plate reading only inside a drawn zone; retention period set by the customer (box: 30 days by default).
4. Security
- Report a vulnerability: security@electronisafe.fr, in English or French (see our Security page and the security.txt file).
- IA-N Analyse plugin: free security fixes while the licence is active; each plugin version receives security fixes for at least 5 years after its release.
- IA-N box: free security fixes during the support period.
- Signed updates: box updates are signed by ElectroniSafe, and the box refuses an update whose signature is not valid. The plugin kit checks the SHA256 fingerprint of every file before installation and refuses a modified kit.
- Signed licences and anti-copy: each licence is signed by ElectroniSafe and bound to its machine by hardware fingerprints; a copy on another machine is detected.
- Third-party components: under open-source licences (for example Apache 2.0, MIT, LGPL, MPL 2.0) or under their publishers' redistribution licences; the list and the text of the licences are delivered with each product.
- Cyber Resilience Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/2847): we are preparing its requirements for our products (handling of reported vulnerabilities, security updates, documentation). No compliance is claimed at this stage.
5. Transparency
- Measured capacity of the plugin (plugin 1.1.1, real videos, 5 analysed frames per second per camera, ElectroniSafe test server with a 4-core / 8-thread processor): 56 cameras at Standard level with an NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card; 20 cameras at Precision level; 12 licence plate cameras (44 plates read out of 44, one vehicle every 32 s). On the processor alone: about 19 to 21 cameras at Standard level, a figure calculated from the measured cost per camera, not measured with that many cameras.
- Box: up to about thirty cameras analysed, based on our internal measurements (13-inch box, 8 GB); actual capacity depends on the cameras, the network and the modules enabled.
- Free measurement kit, before buying: 5 minutes on the target server, nothing is installed and the video server is not stopped.
- Free plugin trial: 30 or 90 days, on request.
- Limits: artificial intelligence analysis produces false alarms and can miss events; IA-N is not a certified security system and we announce no certification. Licence plate reading covers French plates, on vehicles at walking pace (access point, barrier, car park).
